Sure, the sorting feature works, but I like the convenience of having folders, and the app’s description touts its ability to make them and to search subfolders. If it's up to parity with the Android version now, however, I can vouch for that in saying that it has totally been worth the price I bought the Premium version of the app there not because I felt like I needed it, just to support the developer.

There has been an update to the iOS version since then, though, so they may have changed that, and you may at least be able to use the free version enough to see if it's worth purchasing for you, it was just a bit jank in my (admittedly very brief) experience with it. I actually use an Android, but I've tested out an iPhone briefly, and I believe when I tried the free version of FBReader on it, it was severely crippled, especially compared to the free Android version, which is totally useable. The third potential issue is that I believe the iOS version of the app requires you to purchase the premium version to really be able to use it. Supposedly, they're going to be releasing a new version soon, though they haven't given a definite date for it.

The second thing is that the Mac version of their software is only in beta, and is very, very bare-bones. It isn't a huge deal, but if you'd rather not involve a whole other service just to sync stuff up, I can understand that. The only one I know for sure it uses is Google Drive, but there may be other options, I'm not positive. It isn't a perfect solution, but it's the best I've been able to find, though there are some caveats.įor one, syncing involves linking it to a cloud service.
